Chapter 4. Initial Setup

Store Profiles

You can access this feature by clicking on Setup, Store Profiles in the toolbar links area.

You need to have at least one store profile to make the cart function. You can create only one store profile now. If multiple store profiles are found, K2Store will take the first published profile as the default

Creating or editing a store profile has these options:

Store Name

The name of your online store

Description

A description about your store

Address Line 1

Your online store address

Address Line 2

Your online store address

City

City, town or region of your store

ZIP

The zip or the postal code of your store.

This param is very important, if you use geozone based shipping features
Default Country for Tax Calculation

Choose the country your store location. This also doubles as the default country for tax calculation. You can refer the Geozones and tax profiles sections of this guide for more information.

Default Zone for Tax Calculation

Choose the state, region or zone of your store location. This also doubles as the default zone for tax calculation. You can refer the Geozones and tax profiles sections of this guide for more information.

if you are not sure, you can just set this to All zones

Default Length Class

Choose the default length class used by your store. This list is generated based on the options provided in the Length Classes area.

By defualt, the store would populate Centimetre and Inch as options. You can add more by going to Setup->Length Classes

Default Weight Class

Choose the default weight class used by your store. This list is generated based on the options provided in the Weight Classes area.

By defualt, the store would populate Kilogram, Gram and ounce as options. You can add more by going to Setup->weight Classes

Default Product Category

Choose a category that holds your K2 Items (a.k.a products). This setting is used by the Continue Shopping button in the cart. When a customer clicks Continue Shopping button, he/she will be taken to this category

Inventory Tab - Pro feature

Default Qty for Item's Status to Become Out of Stock

Set a quantity here. Once the stock of a product reaches this level, an out of stock notice will be put up

This is a store-wide setting. You can override at the product page.

Default minimum quantity allowed for sale per customer

Set a quantity here. Customers will be asked to order a minimum of this quantity

This is a store-wide setting. You can override at the product page.

Default maximum quantity allowed for sale per customer

Set a quantity here. A customer will not be allowed to order beyong this quantity

This is a store-wide setting. You can override at the product page.

Default notify for quantity below

Set a quantity here. When the stock of the product reaches this level, the store admins will be notified via email.

You should publish the Stock notification Plugin for J2Store to make this feature working.

Checkout layout tab

If you do not see any content in the fields in this section, click the Pre-populate layout with core fields / Restore to Default button. This will prepopulate the fields

You should enter all the published custom fields including the core fields (in Custom Fields Manager) in the relevant display fields. Otherwise, you will have trouble during the checkout.

DO NOT enter any text here. Only fields should be entered in the following format [your_field_name]

Register

Enter the fields that are set to show in the Register layout under the Display settings in Custom Fields manager.

Example: [first_name]

The fields in this layout will be shown to customers who choose to Register and checkout

Billing Address

Enter the fields that are set to show in the Billing adddress layout under the Display settings in Custom Fields manager.

Example: [first_name]

The fields in this layout will be shown to customers who log in and choose to create a new billing address

Shipping Address

Enter the fields that are set to show in the Shipping adddress layout under the Display settings in Custom Fields manager.

Example: [first_name]

The fields in this layout will be shown to customers who log in and choose to create a new shipping address

Guest Billing Address

Enter the fields that are set to show in the Guest billing adddress layout under the Display settings in Custom Fields manager.

Example: [first_name]

The fields in this layout will be shown to customers who check out as guest

Guest shipping Address

Enter the fields that are set to show in the Guest shipping adddress layout under the Display settings in Custom Fields manager.

Example: [first_name]

The fields in this layout will be shown to customers who check out as guest

Shipping and payment method

Enter the fields that are set to show in the Shipping and payment method step in the checkout.

Example: [first_name]
